Tossing Pebbles in the Stream

This blog is my place to sit and toss pebbles into the stream. The stream of Life relentlessly passing before us. We can affect it little. For the most part I just watch it passing and follow the flow. Occasionally, I need to comment on its passing, tossing a pebble at it to enjoy the ripple affect upon Life's surface.

I've just been watching the news coverage of it. It's certainly looking to be a very special day!

I feel like a kid at Christmas - maybe better! I can barely control my emotions. I am old enough to have been there for peace marches. I remember when they brought the first black kid on to our campus. Only a few of us went up to her to make her feel as comfortable as possible. The other kids were not overtly mean - they just stayed away.
Then, when I started teaching, I integrated a black school. One of me - 800 of them. I must say I never had one minute of trouble. The kids were great, no discipline problems except for one young man out of 800. Not bad, eh? I can't say the same for after integratiion. And discipline in our schools is almost non existant today.
There is so much more today that needs to be healed in this world. Sooooo much damage has been done in the last 8 years - it is truly unbelievable - and heart breaking. I do believe if anyone has a chance to start putting it all back together, Obama is the ONE!

The problem is that people are expecting him to be God but he's only human...

I was scrolling through your blog because it's a long time I haven't heard from you and now I found the reason : you had internet problems. I already thought you had troubles with this very cold weather.
Here in Europe we will see the "coronation" of King Obama I at 6 pm.
I think he is a good choice !
I saw a BBC news title : "Good bye George your made us laugh". Yes, but at what price !

Oh, it feels good. Wonderfully wonderfully good.
I can't even say "goodbye" to Bush; only good riddance.

Now, we will have to pull together as US citizens to help our new president.

Great postings both this and the one below Philip... Jane and I watched it on Sky News channel and were awestruck at the sheer numbers that braved the cold. Like Gattina above I noticed many banners.... one of the funniest... not sure thats the right word... was Bush: 'The End Of An Error'

Good Luck indeed

Tom
P.S.
I've re-opened 'Wiggers World' if you have the time drop in any time.. :O)

Philip,

I do hope that Obama is able to carry out his plans for change in America, though I fear for him. Change is not always accepted by those in high places. I'm praying for him and his family.

Blessings,
Mary
